A Life Lived with Integrity

A former paratrooper, Bill Petty knows how important it is to build trusting relationships with others through mutual respect.

Bill Petty's life has been defined by service, hard work, and a commitment to community.

Born into a family of faith, Bill lived in various states before enlisting in the Army in 1964. He served with the 82nd Airborne until 1967, including an 18-month deployment to the Dominican Republic.

After his honorable discharge, Bill pursued education with passion. He earned two degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, launching a diverse career that included developing a high school psychology department, coaching a state champion girls' track team, and founding his own construction company, Petty & Associates, in 1995.

Throughout his life, Bill has been dedicated to giving back. He's served as president of the Nebraska Kidney Foundation, board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and leader in various community and faith organizations.

Bill's journey has taken him from Omaha to Chicago to Evanston, Illinois, leaving a positive impact in each of his neighborhoods. Now calling Williamson County home, Bill continues his tradition of active citizenship. Bill regularly attends (and comments at) government meetings, consistently publishing weekly updates about what is going on in our county. He also volunteers regularly at Graceworks Ministries, and serves as the chapter coordinator for Guitars for Vets.

Bill and his wife Mary have been married since 1969. They're proud parents and grandparents, with his son, daughter-in-law, and children living in Green Hills, and his daughter who lives in Evanston with her husband and two children.

With a lifetime of diverse experiences, Bill brings a unique perspective and a passion for community service to Williamson County. Bill is now the District 10 Republican Nominee for County Commissioner.

As a paratrooper, building contractor, small businessman, schoolteacher, and high school sports coach, Bill proved his leadership and problem-solving skills. Williamson County needs someone with his leadership abilities to tackle the challenges faced by the County Commission.

Bill's Focus

  • Re-envision an overpriced and over-built juvenile jail and justice center.

  • Reduce the out-of-control $1.2 BILLION county debt – that’s over $4,200 per person.

  • Stave off non-essential property tax increases.

  • Manage the runaway growth that’s destroying our county’s historic beauty and overwhelming our roads and infrastructure.

  • Responsible school and capital project funding – pay teachers more and reduce wasteful spending.

  • Make county government more efficient, effective and transparent.

Only residents of District 10 can vote for Bill – but others may support his campaign.District 10 is an area north of Franklin, starting at Liberty Pike.To determine if you live in District 10, follow this simple 30-second process:

  3. Enter your first and last name. Then enter either your ZIP code or your birth month and year. Click Submit. If you are registered to vote, “Voter” [your name] will appear at the top of the menu.

I’ve personally met Bill Petty a number of times. He is very active in our community striving to protect & improve our constitutional Republic and has also spent a lot of his personal time helping other candidates. He is also no stranger to the County Commission meetings. He is the better candidate by far to represent our conservative values.
In the last Williamson County GOP elections, it was VERY apparent that there was a vast majority that did not vote Sheryl Brown back in to office to represent Williamson county’s conservative values. She was voted out by a wide margin given the overwhelming applause to her opponent in the 600+ crowd that attended and voted. She kept our GOP away from good grass roots people in our community and tried protecting the Willco establishment, so Brown is a bad option for County Commission district 10, which she will represent the establishment. It is also very concerning under her GOP lead, many good people serving GOP leadership positions were pushed out. Some of these people even voiced their view it was important for GOP to connect with Williamson County’s conservative grass root groups, but Sheryl Brown did not do so.Please elect Bill Petty to be on the Republican ticket over Brown for Williamson County TN’s District 10.

I support Bill because of his dedication to serving the community. With his diverse background in the military, education, volunteering and politics he is the one we can count on to get the job done. He attends most local government meetings and keeps the public informed. We need more leaders with Bill’s passion and determination to make Williamson a true conservative county.

Bill is a fiscal conservative. Our debt is over $1 billion and growing quickly. He will demand accountability and he will not rubber stamp spending proposals.Bill will protect our children. He will lead change to current school board attitudes and the resulting polices that threaten the wellbeing of our children.Bill sees the impact of out-of-control county growth on our infrastructure and water resources. He will lead the needed change in county growth policies to implement realistic plans that will benefit us today and the generations to come.Bill Petty has the life experience to needed to effectively lead us. Bill’s resume includes service in the U.S. Army, education and small business.Today, he continues to serve our community. Bill and his wife, Mary volunteer at GraceWorks Thrift Store. And, Bill is a member of the Guitars for Vets program, a non-profit organization that provides free guitar lessons to vets who suffer from PTSD and other mental health issues.As a private citizen in Williamson county, Bill understands the issues we face and he communicates the issues to us weekly.Bill is known by and is widely respected by the current county commission. Every week, he attends (in person or online) county commission meetings, Franklin City meetings and Election commission meetings. He summarizes the week’s events and delivers a weekly report to community citizens. If he is this proactive now, just imagine what he will do when elected as the District 10 CommissionerAs the D10 Commissioner he will bring strong and unwavering leadership to the commission, this I am sure of. A vote for Bill Petty is a vote for us.

I strongly endorse Bill Petty for D10 County Commissioner. I was attending a school board meeting and he gave such a logical comment I was impressed and have since gotten to know him. I have seen him working hard to master the issues of our county and leading others to help them to understand and be informed. He is kind and empathetic but intelligent and pro-active in working towards solutions. He is a strong constitutional conservative (founding member of Williamson County Constitutional Republicans) who makes decisions based on his Christian world view and our founding constitution. Bill has no any ties to or obligations to any groups or any other leaders- he is an independent thinker. Based on my friendship and working relationship with him over a couple of years, I know he will faithfully listen to and speak for his constituents.
